Pastor Mike,
I have been a teacher for the past 14 years at my school. I have recently been told I will be placed on the excess teacher list by the Principal.
I met with the Director of Human Resources and found out the Principal is not following the District Policy. She happens to have hired the Director of HR years ago and they are good friends. In fact, He told her I was coming in to visit and she called me down to the office just to tell me of her connection.
My question is this: Do I let God do the leading and believe that He is moving me onto other things or do I pursue the battle of arguing that my school is not following district policy? It could mean that if I should stay here then I could be treated harshly. Or I may have to get a lawyer to stay at a school who doesn't want me here. District Policy states the teacher with the most seniority should get a job first on campus instead of the new hire.
Are there any verses to pray for God's favor other than Luke 2:52? What about encouragement? It is very hard to come to work and face others when everyone knows my dilemma.
I feel like I have been beat up. It is so hard to stay strong. My family is very supportive at home, but I have an excellent teaching record and this has certainly thrown me for a loop. All of this happened after I read the book Let Go and Let God. Ugh! I am seeking guidance to my question.
